A night out at the Big Top with friends… what could be better? Only problem is that you’ve gotten separated after the Tilt-A-Whirl when you started to feel a bit queasy. Sure, it could have just been the third corn dog that did it… but the spinning certainly didn’t help.
You make your way through the congestion, calling out for your companions, but are having no luck in finding them. If only you could get a better vantage point… then you spot a large caravan wagon a little ways away from the crowd. You climb up on the largest of the wheels and try to steady yourself, finding little in the way of holds for your hand. You peer out into the crowd… then a sudden flash goes off from inside the wagon from the window next to you. It’s hard to see inside… a layer of grime (or several layers) and thick curtains don’t allow you to get a clear picture, but you recognize the familiar flicker of a candle.
Hopping down, you peer around the front. Curious… there’s almost no signage or color at all, aside from a rather plain post above the door, modestly painted to display the words “Fortune Teller.” The door to the wagon is slightly ajar and as you approach you smell incense and can hear someone inside. Curiosity getting the better of you, you peek inside and discover that the interior is lined with a tasteful array warm purples and vibrant pinks. A large table sits prominently in the middle of the space, surrounded on the edges with some comforts of home. Your eyes are drawn to a series of cards laid out on the table with several depictions of things, many that you’ve never seen before. A large crystal ball sits atop a silver stand on one end of the table.
“Ah… I’ve been expecting you,” a soft voice proclaims from just behind you, scaring you half to death. “Would you like to know what the future holds for you?”
